NASA OKs SpaceX's Latest Milestone for ISS Crew Transfers

NASA has approved SpaceX's first push towards launching crews to the International Space Station.  This under the auspices of NASA's  Commercial Crew Transportation Capability  contract.

In the review, SpaceX described its current designs  including how the company plans to manufacture its Crew Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 v.1.1 rocket, then launch, with a full crew that contains at least on NASA astronaut, fly, land and recover the crew.

SpaceX, now, will test its systems, to the limits to prove they are safe to transport astronauts to the station. Once this phase is completed and certified, the Crew Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 rocket will be integrated and rolled out for launch. The historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida will be used in this initial phase.
